Best AI visibility checkers of 2027: an honest comparison
Last updated October 2026. We will update this page as tools change in 2027.
Disclosure: Answer Checkup is our product. It is in this list, marked "our product". Every other tool is described only from its own website, checked in October 2026, with a link so you can read it yourself.
What an AI visibility checker does
An AI visibility checker asks AI answer engines questions that your buyers ask, then shows whether your business is named, which competitors are named, and which sites get cited. Some tools also check whether AI crawlers can read your site.
Nobody can tell you today what AI search will look like in 2027. What you can check now is whether a tool measures the engines your buyers use, how often it measures, and what it tells you to fix.
How we built this list
- We picked tools that sell AI visibility tracking or checks and have a public product page.
- We used only what each company says on its own site. No ratings, no review scores, no guesses.
- Tools are listed in alphabetical order. The order is not a ranking.
- Prices change often, so we leave them out. Check each vendor's pricing page. Ours is at answercheckup.com/pricing.

Ahrefs Brand Radar
Ahrefs says Brand Radar maps your AI funnel across 6 AI tools, using more than 475 million search-backed prompts plus custom prompts you add.
- Strength: a very large prompt set, so you can look at any brand, not only your own.
- Strength: it sits inside Ahrefs, which many SEO teams already use.
- Ask before you buy: which plan includes the AI tools and the custom prompts you need.
Answer Checkup (our product)
Answer Checkup checks whether ChatGPT and Perplexity name your business when buyers ask real questions in your category.
- Free AI readiness scan: robots.txt rules for 7 AI crawlers, llms.txt, schema.org markup, title and meta description, whether your main content is in the raw HTML, and your sitemap. You get a score and a grade.
- The free scan shows only your grade and score. The check details and fixes are a paid unlock, see pricing.
- Paid one-time reports: buyer questions written from your site and category, share of voice against up to 5 competitors, the sites the engines cite, how the engines describe your brand, and next steps.
- The Full report also crawls up to 75 pages on your site and adds a 30-day plan.
- Listing checks report a listing as "not found in search" when our search does not find it. Backlinks are not included.
- We measure through the engines' APIs, not screenshots. Only ChatGPT and Perplexity are run, both through their APIs with web search; answers approximate what people see in the ChatGPT and Perplexity apps, but they are not identical. No ranking guarantees.
- Agents can buy paid reports in USDC on Base via x402.
- Keep in mind: we measure only ChatGPT and Perplexity. If you need Gemini, Copilot or Google AI Overviews, pick a tool that tracks them.

- Ask before you buy: how many prompts your plan tracks.
Peec AI
Peec AI calls itself AI search analytics for marketing teams. Its site says it analyzes brand performance across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, tracks visibility and benchmarks competitors.
- Strength: built around competitor benchmarks, which is what most teams ask for first.
- Strength: made for marketing teams who report on AI visibility.
- Ask before you buy: whether the engines and prompt count fit a single small site.
Profound
Profound calls itself the AI marketing platform built for the agentic era. Its site says you can see what customers ask AI, deploy agents to act on it, and measure the results. It lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek and Google AI Overviews.
- Strength: wide engine coverage.
- Strength: goes beyond measuring, with agents that act on what it finds.
- Ask before you buy: whether a full platform is more than you need.
Scrunch
Scrunch says it lets you monitor brand presence in AI search, analyze and optimize your website, and deliver content directly to AI agents.

semrush.com/kb/1493-ai-visibility-toolkit
Semrush says its AI Visibility Toolkit helps you track brand visibility, analyze competitors, monitor prompts and fix technical blockers for AI search.
- Strength: lives inside Semrush, so your SEO and AI data sit in one place.
- Strength: covers technical blockers as well as visibility.
- Ask before you buy: whether you need a Semrush plan on top.

- Strength: tracking and content work in one tool.
- Strength: broad platform coverage, by its own count.
- Ask before you buy: whether you want a content tool too, or only measurement.
How to choose
- Engines: list the AI tools your buyers use. Pick a checker that measures those.
- How often: a one-time check tells you where you stand today. A subscription shows change over time.
- Fixes: ask what the tool tells you to do next, not only what it measured.
- Method: AI answers vary from run to run. Ask how many times each question is asked.
- Honesty: be wary of any tool that promises you will show up. No one can promise that.
